Today’s latest news 27 February: Clash between police and students during JNU Students Union march, kicks and punches

Breaking News Today Live: A clash broke out between police and students on Thursday during a march taken out by the student union of Jawaharlal Nehru University, in which 25 policemen were injured. According to the police, the protesters threw sticks and shoes and attacked and even bit some policemen. 51 students have been detained in this case and Delhi Police has registered a case at Vasant Kunj police station.

The students alleged that the police used excessive force against them. Police have started investigation by registering a case under sections like stopping a government employee from duty, attacking policemen, damaging public property and illegal assembly. This march was to be taken out from JNU campus to the Ministry of Education. The students were protesting against the policies of the university administration, implementation of UGC norms, suspension of JNUSU officials and the proposed Rohit Act.
