War begins in Pakistan-Afghanistan! Heavy shelling from both sides at midnight, claims of hundreds of deaths

Pakistan-Afghanistan War 2026: The border dispute between Pakistan and Afghanistan has now turned into a serious military confrontation. In the early hours of Friday, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter planes carried out airstrikes in Kandahar and Paktia provinces, including Afghanistan’s capital Kabul. Pakistan has named this military action “Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq” and claimed that 133 Afghan Taliban fighters were killed in these attacks.

According to eyewitnesses, at around 1:50 am on Friday morning, a loud roar of Pakistani fighter planes was heard in the sky of Kabul, after which at least eight loud explosions occurred one after the other. The intensity of the blasts was so high that even the windows of houses shook in many areas. Pakistan’s Information Minister Ataullah Tarar confirmed that Taliban defense positions, ammunition depots and logistics centers were targeted during the operation.

Pakistani jet crashes during fight

Quoting security sources, local media also claimed that a Pakistani plane was shot down in Afghan airspace. However, this claim could not be independently confirmed. The Afghan side says that Pakistan bombed Kabul, Kandahar and Paktia. Islamic Emirate spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed the attacks on social media, but denied causing large-scale damage.

Pakistan claimed to cause huge damage

The Pakistan government has claimed to have caused heavy damage to the Afghan Taliban in this operation. According to the official statement, 133 fighters were killed and more than 200 were injured. Two corps headquarters, three brigade headquarters and 27 posts were destroyed. Apart from this, a claim has also been made to destroy more than 80 tanks, cannons and armored vehicles. Pakistan also said that it has taken control of nine Taliban border posts.

Taliban captured Pak posts

The backdrop of tension began on Thursday night, when the Afghan Taliban claimed to have captured more than 15 Pakistani posts along the Durand Line and killed 55 Pakistani soldiers. Pakistan termed these claims as an act of provocation and launched a retaliatory attack. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said the country will take every possible step to protect its territorial integrity.
