Shivshahi bus will be closed!! Transport Minister took the decision

Shivshahi Bus: A major change in the public transport of the state has come out. Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will discontinue the ‘Shivshahi’ buses in its fleet and replace them with new semi-luxury buses in a phased manner. In fact, when the Shivshahi bus was launched in Maharashtra a few years ago, the bus got a strong air. Even private travels paled in front of these buses. Shivshahi was also preferred by passengers. But in the middle period, seeing the frequent accidents and technical problems of the Shivshahi bus, this bus became very undesirable for the passengers. The issue of Shivshahi bus was well-known in the Maharashtra state legislature session as well. As a result, the decision to close these buses was announced by the state transport minister Pratap Saranaik.

MLA Shrikant Bhartiya raised a question regarding Shivshahi Bus in the Legislative Council. Serious incidents such as brake failure, engine overheating, technical failure, tire burst are constantly happening in Shivshahi buses. Shivshahi buses in the state are more than 10 years old, outdated and not technically sound but unfit. However, Srikanth Bharatiya said that these buses are still being used in Maharashtra. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik gave a written reply to his statement.

Pratap Sarnaik said, currently there are 688 self-owned Shivshahi buses in the fleet of the State Transport Corporation. Although 453 of these buses are currently operational and in good condition, a decision has been taken to revamp them due to decline in passenger response. The existing Shivshahi buses are not usable for more than 10 years. Therefore, instead of removing them completely, an attempt will be made to avoid financial loss by converting them into semi-luxury, Pratap Sarnaik informed. It is said that the government has also admitted that the passengers had started turning their backs on the Shivshahi bus due to frequent technical breakdowns. Shivshahi Bus

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation is preparing to launch a new bus service that connects with the history of the state. This new bus service will be named ‘Rajmata Jijau’. These buses will have 55 seats with 3×2 seating capacity.
