Due to poisonous gas leaking in Indore, the health of many people deteriorated, there was an atmosphere of chaos.

There was a stir in Raoji Bazaar area of ​​Indore at around 10 pm on Thursday night when poisonous gas started leaking from a cylinder kept in a scrap shop. Due to this sudden spread of gas, people living nearby started facing problems like difficulty in breathing, nervousness and vomiting. The situation became so bad that people came out of their homes and an atmosphere of panic was created in the entire area.

What came to light in the primary investigation?

Many people were seen trying to protect themselves from the effects of the gas by tying cloth and handkerchief over their mouths. Preliminary investigation has revealed that a cylinder was being cut in a scrap shop located under the Katkatpura bridge of Raoji Bazaar. Meanwhile, the gas present inside the cylinder started coming out rapidly and within no time it spread in the surrounding area. Later it was found that the cylinder was filled with ammonia gas, which spread in the air after leakage and proved dangerous for people’s health.

As soon as information about the incident was received, police and fire department teams immediately reached the spot. The fire brigade staff first tried to control the valve of the cylinder and then sprayed water so that the effect of the gas could be reduced. The effect of the gas was so intense that some firefighters engaged in relief work also experienced difficulty in breathing. However, the situation was brought under control in time.

Four to five people were sent to the hospital

According to officials, no one died in this incident, but as a precaution, four to five people were sent to the hospital, where they were treated. Everyone’s condition is now said to be stable. The police have taken Shahzad, the scrap dealer who was cutting the cylinder, into custody and he is being interrogated. It is also being investigated from where he got this cylinder and how dangerous gas was present in it.

Seeing the seriousness of the incident, senior police and administrative officials reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The administration has currently declared the area safe and surveillance has been increased. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of fear among the local people and the administration is being demanded to further strengthen the security measures.
