IndiGo Flight Delay Viral Video: IndiGo flight 6E1025 is once again in the news. This flight to Singapore was to depart at 7:20 am on February 24, but was able to take off at around 12 o’clock.
Angered by the delay of about 5 hours, about 200 passengers created a ruckus inside the plane. In the video viral on social media, passengers are seen standing near the exit gate of the plane and expressing their displeasure.

This video was shared by life coach Josephus Nazarel Andrew, who was himself aboard the same flight. According to him, no clear information was given to the passengers on time regarding the delay.
During this time, the elderly, children and other passengers sitting in the plane continued to face inconvenience. The post claimed that the AC was sometimes running and sometimes switched off and the distressed passengers were not even allowed to leave the plane. The situation calmed down a bit when replacement pilots arrived at around 11:30.

Debate broke out regarding facilities for passengers
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has made clear rules regarding flight delays. As per rules, the airline has to provide free food or refreshments for delays of more than 2 hours. In case of delay of more than 6 hours, there is a provision to give alternative flight or full refund to the passengers.
At the same time, if you have to stay overnight, the airline also has to make arrangements for hotel stay. Currently, the video of this matter is going viral and the debate has again started regarding passenger facilities.
