Government teacher molested 6 girl students in Dhori village of Chhatarpur, arrested under POCSO Act, citing mid-day meal controversy.

An incident that puts the temple of education to shame has come to light from Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh, where a government primary school teacher has been seriously accused of molesting more than 6 girl students. On Thursday, when the girl students reached home crying and narrated their ordeal, the family members were shocked. After this, tension spread in the village and the police arrested the accused teacher.

The matter pertains to the government primary school of Dhori village of the district. The girl students have made very serious allegations against the 52-year-old teacher Sanjeev Chaturvedi posted here. According to the children, the teacher used to make them sit on his lap in the class and put his hands in their undergarments. Such activities were going on for a long time.

Family members got angry, chaos broke out in the school

When the victimized students returned home on Thursday afternoon, they told their family members that ‘Master ji does very dirty things’. Hearing this the family members became furious. Many people of the village united and reached the school and started demanding answers from teacher Sanjeev Chaturvedi. Villagers say that the teacher kept denying the allegations, after which the atmosphere became tense.

Seeing the situation worsening, someone informed the police helpline dial 112. The police of Orchha Road police station reached the spot, saved the teacher from the angry mob and brought him to the police station. A crowd of villagers also gathered outside the police station, demanding strict action against the accused.

The accused teacher said- ‘I am being implicated’

During police interrogation, accused teacher Sanjeev Chaturvedi described all the allegations against him as baseless. He claimed that all this was being done as part of a conspiracy. According to the teacher, he is having a dispute with some local people regarding the mid-day meal prepared in the school. Due to this controversy, he is being implicated in a false case. Chaturvedi has been posted in this school since 2019.

The accused used to threaten, police is investigating

Villagers told that according to the girls, the teacher used to threaten them that if they told anyone about this, he would beat them and make them fail in the examination. Due to this fear the children remained silent for a long time.

“The girls had told this several days ago also. We had also informed the Anganwadi workers. Today when we reached the school, the girls repeated the same thing to us, after which the police was informed. On the complaint of a girl’s mother, the police have registered a case against the accused teacher under POCSO Act and other relevant sections and arrested him. Lady Investigation Officer (SI) Uma Parihar said that the matter is serious and the investigation is still in the initial stage. The police team will soon visit the village and school and record the statements of other girl students and witnesses.
