Big news regarding Delhi liquor scam, court acquitted Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia

A big update has come out in the excise policy of Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia have been acquitted by the court. Both the leaders also had to go to jail in this case.

While delivering the verdict, Rouse Avenue Court refused to take cognizance of the charge sheet and granted relief to all the accused.

What did the court say in the order

Special Judge Jitendra Singh said that there are many shortcomings in the charge sheet filed by the CBI, which are not supported by concrete evidence. The court made it clear that merely making allegations does not suffice, but it is necessary to prove them with sufficient and credible evidence.

The court acquitted a total of 23 accused in this case, including both the top leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party.

CBI investigation and controversy

The case was being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The investigation was conducted into alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now canceled excise policy of the Delhi government.

BJP had alleged that there were irregularities in the distribution of liquor licenses and select dealers were given advantage. After the Lieutenant Governor sought a report in July 2022, the investigation intensified and several arrests were made.

Kejriwal’s reaction

After the verdict, Arvind Kejriwal said that for the last few years, allegations were being made continuously regarding liquor scam, but the court rejected all the allegations. “We have faith in the judiciary. Truth has prevailed,” he said.

He alleged that to destroy the Aam Aadmi Party, its leaders were put in jail. According to him, this entire matter was a political conspiracy.
