Holi 2026: 3 days holiday, premature salary and pension, Yogi government made a big announcement

Uttar Pradesh: UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a big gift to the employees of the state on the festival of Holi. The government has declared a three-day official holiday for Holi. Besides, a big announcement has also been made regarding salary and pension.

Actually, CM Yogi has announced a government holiday from March 2 to March 4 on the occasion of Holi. Since March 1 is a Sunday, the employees will get a long leave of four consecutive days, so that they will be able to celebrate the festival with the family.

No delay in salary and pension before Holi

CM Yogi has issued strict instructions for the convenience of all the employees before the festival. He has ordered that the salary and pension for the month of February should reach everyone’s bank accounts before the start of Holi. This decision is a relief for about 17-18 lakh government employees and pensioners.

It is clearly stated in the instructions that apart from regular employees, contract workers, outsourcing staff and sweepers will also not be deprived of this benefit. Any negligence in salary payment will not be tolerated and action may be taken against the responsible officials.

Government offices will remain open on 28 February

The government has made special arrangements to create a balance between work and leisure. Saturday 28 February 2026 has been declared a working day in the entire state. On this day all government offices, schools and other institutions will function normally.

In return, employees will get additional leave on March 3, 2026. With this arrangement, Holi holiday will remain for three days, but overall there will be a break of four days from Sunday to Wednesday.

This announcement is creating an atmosphere of happiness among the employees. Yogi government has always given priority to the welfare of employees during festivals. Now people will be able to play Holi with colors and celebrate without any worries.
