If you are taking traffic rules lightly while driving, be careful in time. Serious action is now being taken against those who violate traffic rules. The central government will soon change the entire driving license system in the country. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced that a ‘grade-based driving license system’ will soon be implemented in India. This means your driving license can be revoked if you violate traffic rules. What exactly is this system and how will it work? Know the detailed news

What is this new system?

Road safety rules are already in place across the country. Currently, breaking the rules is usually fined. Now, the driving license will be treated like a “report card”. When someone breaks traffic rules, certain points will be deducted from his license. If the points fall below the prescribed limit, his license will be suspended for six months. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Thursday that approximately 1.8 lakh people die every year in the country due to reasons such as driving while using a mobile phone, speeding, driving in the wrong direction or driving under the influence of alcohol.
