Now AI is becoming a doctor too, will enter Delhi AIIMS

New Delhi. The scope of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasing rapidly in India. After education, finance and administration, it is now making a strong entry in the health sector also. Given the country’s huge and complex health system, the need for an AI-based solution was being felt for a long time. A new name is emerging rapidly in this direction, Ashwin AI.

Technological initiatives amid healthcare challenges

India’s health system is one of the largest in the world, but lack of resources, excessive pressure on doctors and data management problems remain major challenges. In such a situation, AI based tools can play a supporting role for doctors such as analysis of patient data, preliminary investigation of reports, and support in clinical decisions. Ashwin AI aims to make patient care more streamlined.

vision of three friends

This platform started with the shared vision of three professionals. Prabhu Rajagopal, who is a professor at IIT Madras, is the founder and chairman of this initiative. Anirudh Varna is guiding its technology infrastructure as co-founder and chief technology officer. Vijayaraja is handling the responsibilities of operations and expansion. Together, these three have developed an AI tool that can help medical professionals make better decisions.

Appreciation at AI Summit 2026

This healthcare solution was especially appreciated at the recently held AI Summit 2026. Experts called it a useful and practical step in India’s health infrastructure. After this forum, the discussion about Ashwin AI intensified and it started being taken seriously even at the government level.

access to government institutions

The Ashwin AI team is currently working in collaboration with the National Informatics Center (NIC). Most importantly, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, one of the leading medical institutions of the country, is preparing to include this technology in its system soon.

The start of use of this technology in AIIMS Delhi is an indication that India’s health sector is now ready to adopt digital transformation. If this experiment is successful, then in future other government and private hospitals can also move towards adopting such AI platforms.
