Up news: BSA Shalini Srivastava suspended, departmental inquiry ordered
Major administrative action has been taken in Deoria regarding Krishna Mohan Singh suicide case. Following the report sent by District Magistrate Divya Mittal to the government on 23 February 2026, the Uttar Pradesh government has suspended District Basic Education Officer (BSA) Shalini Srivastava with immediate effect. Besides, orders for departmental inquiry have also been issued against him.
Allegation of ignoring High Court order
In the order issued by Basic Education Section-1, it has been said that the orders of the Honorable High Court were not followed on time. The allegations of no effective action being taken for almost a year have been prima facie found to be true. The government has considered this as serious negligence and indifference in government work, which has been kept in the category of misconduct.
Suspension as per rules, investigation officer appointed
The government has suspended Shalini Srivastava under Rule 4 of the Uttar Pradesh Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1999. A departmental inquiry has been initiated under Rule 7. To ensure impartiality of the investigation, Joint Director of Education, Gorakhpur Division has been made the investigating officer.
Allowance will be given during the suspension period
During the suspension period, he will be given living allowance as per rules. Also, he has been affiliated to the office of Director of Education (Basic), Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.
Additional charge of BSA Deoria
As the post of BSA Deoria becomes vacant, Principal DIET, Deoria has been given additional charge along with his existing post, so that the educational and administrative work in the district is not affected.
Action has already been taken
In this case, a case has already been registered in Gulhariya police station on the complaint of family members. Based on the report of the high-level inquiry committee constituted by the District Magistrate, a counter assistant has already been suspended.
DM’s strict message
District Magistrate Divya Mittal has clearly said that accountability and transparency is the top priority in the district. Strict action will be taken if negligence is found at any level.
