Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is once again in the news. In the excise policy case in which Kejriwal was in jail for several months and came out on bail, the court has acquitted him of charges in the same case. After this decision of the court, Arvind Kejriwal burst into tears while speaking in front of the media. Kejriwal said that he is not dishonest but strictly honest. Now this video of Arvind Kejriwal crying has gone viral and it is certain to have an impact on the elections of Punjab and Gujarat.
Assembly elections are to be held in Gujarat and Punjab next year. There is only Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab and after losing Delhi, all the big leaders of AAP are focusing on Punjab only. Regarding this, the opposition also alleges that Delhi is controlling AAP’s Punjab government. Many times the opposition has surrounded AAP that even though Bhagwant Mann is the Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal is working like a Super CM.
Will Kejriwal’s tears be useful?
AAP has suffered a huge loss due to Arvind Kejriwal going to jail. BJP, which was not able to stand against AAP for a long time, turned the tables in Delhi. In fact, the disadvantage of Kejriwal going to jail was that the party became weak and the organization started slipping out of hand. Before and after the elections, many leaders left the party and at one time only Saurabh Bhardwaj and Atishi were running the party. In the absence of Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal had even come into the field and took charge of the party.

Now after being freed from these allegations, Arvind Kejriwal has appeared very emotional and he has said only one thing that he is not dishonest but strictly honest. AAP has also started capitalizing on these tears. The next year is going to be very important for the Aam Aadmi Party which is sweating a lot in Gujarat. In 2022, AAP had won 5 assembly seats and secured 13 percent votes. Now, the way Arvind Kejriwal is sweating, it is believed that AAP is very serious about Gujarat.
This decision in favor of Kejriwal before these elections has excited the AAP cadre. The reason is that Arvind Kejriwal’s image as an ‘honest leader’ was deeply shaken by this entire case. Now in one fell swoop AAP has started saying that the entire matter was false. It will not be easy for BJP, which is continuously cornering AAP, to corner Kejriwal because the court itself has accepted that these leaders were implicated without any evidence.
Overall, AAP has now got an edge in the battle of narrative and its leaders are no longer going to be cowed down on moral grounds. There may be many serious allegations against the AAP government, which is seen in aggressive mode in Punjab, but this decision has forced the opposition to think. Now at least the opposition parties will not be able to corner Kejriwal on the issue of corruption.

AAP got Sanjeevani?
Between coming out of jail and the Delhi Assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal used to come in front of the media almost every day. For several days in a row, he would come in front of the media and make one promise or the other. Overall he was in the news every day. However, the defeat in Delhi had dealt him a severe blow. Arvind Kejriwal, who lost the election from his own assembly seat, has distanced himself from the media. After a long time, when he came out of the court on Friday, he talked to the media and looked full of confidence.
Now it seems that AAP has got Sanjeevani and Arvind Kejriwal himself is also going to be vocal in front of the media. If this happens then he will be seen playing on the front even in the election year. Famous Arvind Kejriwal, due to his good speech style and his hold among the public, can cause considerable damage to his opponents in this situation. If he is successful in forming government again in Punjab and strengthening AAP in Gujarat then it will be a lifeline for AAP in Delhi. This is also possible because despite the defeat in Delhi, AAP’s vote percentage was not much less than BJP.
What did Arvind Kejriwal say?
After being acquitted of these charges, Kejriwal alleged, ‘I always used to say that God is with us. Modi ji and Amit Shah ji together hatched the biggest political conspiracy of independent India. To destroy the Aam Aadmi Party, the five biggest leaders of the party were sent to jail. Kejriwal said that this was the first time that a sitting Chief Minister was dragged from his house and thrown into jail. He reminded people of his and Sisodia’s imprisonment. The AAP chief alleged that it was a complete fake case.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in March 2024. Then he was on the post of Chief Minister. Later, CBI also arrested him in the same case. Later he got bail from the Supreme Court. After getting bail, the Supreme Court had said that Kejriwal cannot go to the Secretariat. Due to this, a few months before the elections, Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post of Chief Minister and made Atishi the Chief Minister in his place.
