Pakistan waged war against Afghanistan, huge loss to both countries due to airstrike
New Delhi. Pakistan has declared open war against Afghanistan. After the attack on Afghanistan, Pakistan carried out massive airstrikes targeting military bases in Afghanistan on Friday morning. Claims are being made from both the countries regarding the damage caused in the attack. Pakistan has targeted Kabul, Kandahar and Paktia provinces.
Pakistani media Dawn quoted security sources as saying that the Afghan Taliban is very nervous after the retaliatory action of the Pakistani Army. An update issued at 11:55 a.m. said Afghan Taliban fighters fled leaving behind a vehicle, which is in the possession of Pakistani army soldiers. The statement further said, ‘Pakistani security forces are fully prepared to protect the border and give a prompt and strong response to any attack.’ According to security sources, the Afghan Border Terminal Post and the Afghan post in Warsak sector have suffered heavy damage. Different claims are being made by both the countries regarding the damage caused in the attack.
Media reports have claimed that Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the country always wants peace, but his army will face any attack boldly. After this statement of PM, Pakistan has started Operation ‘Gajab Lil-Haq’ against Afghan Taliban. According to the report of Pakistani media Dawn, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary will hold an important press conference on the Pak-Afghan situation at 4 pm today.
According to Al Jazeera report, Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar claimed that 133 Afghan Taliban fighters were killed and more than 200 were injured. The Taliban government says that eight Taliban fighters were killed and 11 were injured. The Taliban government also claimed to have killed 55 Pakistani soldiers, captured two military bases and 19 military posts. Pakistan says that two of its soldiers were killed in the ongoing clashes.
With the declaration of open war, Pakistan carried out air strikes in Afghanistan overnight and heavily bombed many important cities including Kabul and Kandahar. Several explosions were heard in Kabul and Kandahar and locals reported that jets were flying overhead. It is being claimed in media reports that Pakistan used its air force in these attacks. Let us tell you, Afghanistan does not have its own air force.
