CJI On Investigation Of Supreme Court Registry: CJI Surya Kant will conduct a thorough investigation of the Supreme Court Registry, said – some officers who consider themselves permanent are acting arbitrarily

New Delhi. CJI Surya Kant has said that he will conduct a thorough investigation into the functioning of the Supreme Court Registry. The Chief Justice said on Thursday that he is going to order a thorough investigation because some officials of the Supreme Court Registry are allegedly acting arbitrarily despite the new reforms brought in to ensure its smooth functioning. For the first time, a CJI has talked about a thorough investigation of the Supreme Court registry.

The CJI said that he was surprised to know that after the petition was rejected by a three-judge bench in the Supreme Court, the same petition was listed before another bench. Chief Justice Surya Kant said that he will order a deep investigation into the functioning of the registry. In a strict tone, the CJI said that there are officers in the Supreme Court Registry for the last 20-30 years. They think that we (judges) are here in transit and they are permanent. The CJI said that that is why he wants things to happen according to him. Chief Justice Surya Kant said that if I do not correct it before leaving the post, I will fail in my duty.

Let us tell you that after assuming the post of CJI, Justice Surya Kant has taken many important steps to improve the functioning of the Supreme Court. CJI Surya Kant has stopped oral mentioning. Now lawyers can immediately raise right to life cases before a bench. Apart from this, it has been made necessary to send other cases to the registry. Apart from this, CJI Surya Kant has made an important rule that three days before the hearing of a case, the lawyers of both the parties will have to give a five-page brief note to the judges of the concerned bench. So that after reading the thick file of the case, they already get the information related to it.
