GRP constable beats up vendor at Mathura Junction, suspended as soon as CCTV video goes viral

Mathura Junction Viral Video: A video has surfaced from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, which has raised questions on the behavior of the police. It is alleged that a GRP constable misbehaved and assaulted a vendor running a shop at the station. This entire incident was captured in CCTV camera, after which the matter quickly went viral on social media.

The policeman beat up the tea seller

According to the user @KR_AMIT007 who posted the video, the incident occurred around 8:20 am on February 25, 2026. It was told that the GRP constable first ordered tea from the vendor. When the vendor asked for some time citing cleanliness, the constable got angry.

In the viral video, it is seen that he abuses and then starts hitting the vendor with the wiper. In some tweets, the name of the constable has been mentioned as Suraj Chauhan and the name of the vendor has been mentioned as Inder. However, official confirmation will be clear only after investigation.

Policeman suspended with immediate effect

As the matter escalated, senior Railway Police officials took cognizance. SP of GRP Agra, while replying on X, said that the preliminary investigation was conducted by CO GRP Agra.

On the basis of the investigation report, the concerned Sub Inspector Vivek Kumar has been suspended with immediate effect on charges of indecency and indiscipline. Besides, orders have been given for a departmental inquiry into the entire matter.

There is anger among people regarding this incident on social media. Many users say that uniform does not mean rights but responsibility. Even if there was any mistake on the part of the vendor, it could have been explained. At present, the truth of the entire matter will become clear only after the departmental investigation.
