Ranchi: The results of municipal elections in Jharkhand have come. From Ranchi, BJP supported Roshni Khalko defeated Congress supported candidate Rama Khalko by 14,363 votes. The interesting thing is that JMM supporter Sujit Vijay and Kujur got more votes than this victory margin of 19,305 votes. Sanjay Sardar from Adityapur and Aruna Shankar from Medininagar have won the election. Both are BJP supported candidates. The most shocking results in Ranchi city came from Ward 18 where Somvit Maji, son of JMM’s Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, lost the election, in this ward Asha Devi was declared victorious for the third consecutive time. Elections were held for the first time in Mango Municipal Corporation of Jamshedpur and Congress-backed Sudha Gupta (wife of former minister Banna Gupta) created history. He defeated BJP-backed Sandhya Singh by 18,601 votes.

According to the election results, Sunny Oraon secured a total of 11,331 votes, while Vijay Singh Gagrai, who stood second, had to be content with 10,270 votes. In third place, Congress supported candidate Anupriya Soy got 2,036 votes. Independent candidate Vijay Singh Sumbrui stood at the fourth position with 327 votes, while Uttam Kumar Balmuchu stood at the fifth position with 303 votes. Sunny Oraon is the son of Chakradharpur MLA Sukhram Oraon. His main rival Vijay Singh Gagrai is the younger brother of Kharsawan MLA Dashrath Gagrai. In such a situation, this election was also considered to be linked to the reputation of two political families.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supported Pramila Mehra won a landslide victory in Giridih Municipal Corporation. She defeated BJP-backed Dr. Shailendra Kumar Choudhary by a huge margin of 14,599 votes. Pramila got 38,091 votes, while Choudhary had to be content with 23,493 votes. Independent Arjun Baitha stood third. Experts say that the strategy of local MLA Sudivya Sonu strengthened JMM here. Pramila has previously been a Zilla Parishad member. The results of Adityapur Municipal Corporation elections have been announced. In the election of Chatra Municipal Council President, Ataur Rehman alias Babu Bhai won by defeating his nearest rival Aman Yadav by 1492 votes. Bholu Paswan has won the post of Mayor in Chas Municipal Corporation. The election for the post of Ramgarh Municipal Council President was won by Congress supported candidate Kusumalata Kumari (husband Hitlal Munda) by 6492 votes. Kusumalata Kumari got 17605 votes and second place BJP supported candidate Priya Kumari got 11113 votes. Kusumalata won by 6492 votes. For the post of President, AJSU supported Renu Devi got 9401 votes. JLKM supported candidate Anita Kumari got 8232 votes.
