Jharkhand Nikay Chunav Result 2026: Women power dominates in Ranchi, women candidates won elections in 32 out of 53 wards.

Ranchi: The results of the Municipal Corporation elections have once again made it clear that the participation of women in city politics is continuously getting stronger. In the elections held in 53 wards (Ranchi Municipal Election), female candidates won in 32 wards, while male candidates were victorious in 21 wards. This means that this time also the number of women in the corporation board will be more. In many wards, women gained a decisive lead, while in many places victory was recorded in very close contests. It is clear from these results that the participation of women will be decisive in the new council of Ranchi Municipal Corporation. Women have won in many wards with a strong support base, due to which the role of ‘women power’ in the politics of the corporation is likely to become more effective in the coming term. Plans will also be made in their favor.

closely contested wards

The contest was very exciting in many wards. There was a difference of only 26 votes in Ward 38. There was a difference of 74 votes in Ward 33, 96 votes in Ward 14 and 97 votes in Ward 2. These results showed that voters in many places maintained the contest till the last vote.

Women won in these wards

Savita Kachhap won from Ward 2 by a slight margin of 97 votes.
In Ward 14, Anju Devi won by only 96 votes.
In Ward 33, Pushpa Toppo won by 74 votes.
Although male candidates won in Ward 38, there too the difference was only 26 votes.
Preeti Ranjan got 1907 votes from Ward 9, Sangeeta Devi got 1668 votes from Ward 10.
Aliya Naz won from Ward 11 with a huge margin of 1789 votes and Farha Naz from Ward 23 won with a huge margin of 4370 votes.
In Ward 43, Shashi Singh registered a big lead by winning by 2910 votes.
In Ward 52, male candidate Peter Khoya achieved one of the biggest victories by winning by 4673 votes.

What was the situation of male candidates?

Male candidates won in 21 wards. Kulbhushan Dungdung from Ward 12 won by 2632 votes, Pradeep Kumar from Ward 26 won by 2781 votes and Neeraj Kumar from Ward 31 won by a huge margin of 2693 votes. Along with this, JMM supporter Pramila Mehra in Giridih, BJP supporter Aruna Shankar in Medininagar, Congress supporter Sudha Gupta in Mango and Roshni Khalkho won the post of Mayor in Ranchi. By winning, it showed the increasing dominance of women power.

The counting of votes for the civic elections of Vishrampur Municipal Council held on February 23 was completed on Friday amidst tough competition and ups and downs. After three rounds of counting, Geeta Devi, daughter-in-law of former MP Kameshwar Baitha, won the post of President by securing 3071 votes. At around 8 pm, Returning Officer cum District Supply Officer Preeti Kisku formally announced his election.

History has been created in Jugsalai Municipal Council of Jharkhand after 43 years. Nausheen Khan, wife of Jharkhand Minority Commission Chairman Hidayatullah Khan, has registered a historic victory for the post of President in the Municipal General Elections 2026. In a very thrilling, breath-taking and full of ups and downs contest, he defeated his nearest rival Rinku Singh by a margin of just 720 votes. Nausheen Khan got a total of 11,563 votes, while Rinku Singh, who was contesting for the first time, surprised everyone by getting 10,843 votes. Independent candidate from Jamtara Nagar Panchayat, Asha Gupta, defeated the BJP supported candidate by securing 974 votes in a thrilling contest. Asha Gupta got 6880 votes, former Jamtara NP President Reena Kumari got 5906 votes.
