Ranchi: Sub-zonal commander of banned militant organization TSPC, Adil Ansari alias ‘Deva’, was arrested by Ranchi Police. Deva has been arrested on the basis of information received by Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan.
Deva got injured while escaping
Ranchi Senior SP Rakesh Ranjan had received secret information that a notorious TSPC commander involved in many militant incidents was hiding in Lohardaga city. Acting immediately on the information, a special raid team was formed under the leadership of DSP Khalari.
With the help of local police, the team got information about Adil hiding in a rented house in Idgah locality of Lohardaga. After which the house where Adil was was surrounded, during the siege Adil Ansari tried to escape by jumping from the upper floor. But he got seriously injured in this attempt. The police caught and arrested him on the spot.

Ranchi Senior SP Rakesh Ranjan said that weapons and other material have been recovered from the accused, the investigation of which is going on. According to the police, Adil Ansari had been active with the top commanders of TSPC for a long time. At the behest of the organization, he used to extort extortion from businessmen, contractors, brick-kiln owners and coal traders in Khalari, Piparwar, McCluskieganj and Budmu areas. His common strategy was to give threats of firing, assault and death if extortion was not paid. Police investigation has revealed that in recent months he had threatened many people and demanded levy.
Adil had become synonymous with terror
According to Ranchi Police, Deva’s direct involvement has been found in the incidents of levy collection, kidnapping and assault in December 2024 and February 2025. Especially in the incident of firing done to spread terror in Khalari area on February 10, 2025, Adil’s name also came prominently. These incidents had created an atmosphere of fear in the local business community.
