New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently said that India has recognized its inherent strength in the last 12 years, due to which developed countries are now moving forward for trade agreements. In his speech at the Rising India conference, he said that even after independence, some people maintain the colonial mentality. PM Modi clarified, ‘If we had not recognized our internal strengths and strengthened our institutions, no country would have entered into trade agreements with us. This is why developed countries are now establishing trade relations with us.

Modi’s criticism on Congress

PM Modi further said that the recently held AI summit was a proud moment for the entire country, but he alleged that the Congress party tried to defame it. He said, ‘Congress has not only stripped in front of foreign guests, but has also exposed its ideological bankruptcy. When there is despair and ego in the mind, then such a thought of defaming the country is born. Congress always behaves like this.

The Prime Minister also said that the potential of any country does not come suddenly. It is made from the hard work, knowledge and experience of generations. He said, ‘Centuries of slavery gave rise to a feeling of inferiority towards the potential of our country.’ According to him, foreign ideologies established the notion that Indians were uneducated and subservient.

Situation before 2014

Referring to India’s situation before 2014, PM Modi said that if the country had remained in the same dismal situation, no country would have entered into a trade agreement. He said that in the last 11 years, a new energy has flowed into the consciousness of the country and India is now trying to regain its lost potential.
