Due to Holi and weekly holidays, banks will remain closed for 5 consecutive days in many cities –

Bank Holidays: This time the month of March is starting with festivals and weekly holidays. In such a situation, if any important work related to your bank is pending, then it would be wise to plan in advance. According to the official holiday list released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), bank branches are going to remain closed in the upcoming days in different states and cities.

First of all, as February 28 is the fourth Saturday of the month, banks will remain closed across the country. After this, March 1 is Sunday, due to which there will be no work in the branches for two consecutive days. Customers are advised to complete cash withdrawal, check clearance or other urgent transactions before these holidays.

After two consecutive days of weekly holiday, banks will remain closed in some cities on March 2. There will be a bank holiday only in Kanpur and Lucknow on the occasion of Holika Dahan, while normal functioning will continue in other cities.

Apart from this, due to Holi and traditional events related to it on March 3 and 4, banking services will be affected in many states. Banks will remain closed in cities like Bhopal, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur and Patna on March 3. On the occasion of Holi on March 4, holiday has been declared in many cities including Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Imphal, Itanagar, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, New Delhi and Raipur.

However, it is important to note that these holidays are applicable state-wise. Banks will not be closed simultaneously in all cities. Customers can also use digital banking services like net banking, mobile banking and ATM on these days, as these services will continue to operate normally.

You can avoid any inconvenience by planning your banking operations better during this festive season. For complete information about holidays, please check the official list of the concerned bank branch or RBI.
