Israel’s pre-emptive missile attack on Iran, blasts in Tehran, emergency like situation across the country
Israel launched pre-emptive missile strikes against Iran on Saturday. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that this action has been taken to eliminate the threats looming over the country. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) sounded sirens across the country to alert citizens and urge them to stay near safe places.
The sounds of explosions were heard in Tehran. Iranian state media has confirmed the explosions in the capital. According to reports, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been moved to a “safe place” due to security reasons. Mobile services are disrupted in some parts of Tehran and internet connectivity is said to be weak.
Israel has banned educational activities, public gatherings and non-essential workplaces across the country, making changes to Home Front Command guidelines. Essential services will continue. The Defense Minister has declared a special emergency under the Civil Defense Act and warned of possible missile and drone attacks.
According to reports, America’s role in the attacks is also being said. Meanwhile, the third round of nuclear talks between the US and Iran has taken place in Geneva, and further talks are ongoing. US President Donald Trump described Iran as “difficult” and “dangerous” and said that America has to take a big decision, but he prefers a peaceful solution.
Rising tensions in the Middle East have created new concerns about global security and diplomacy.
