On Israel’s preventive missile attack on Iran, Congress leader Sachin Pilot said on Saturday, ‘I believe that the timing of PM Modi’s (Israel) visit was not right, and (PM Modi’s) speech raises doubts on India’s impartiality. We have always supported the two-nation theory, and this time we are compromising with our foreign policy to some extent. Foreign policy is made keeping in mind the interests of the country; This is not a means of creating personal image.
Pilot further said, ‘Unfortunately, the foreign policy made in the last eleven years has become based on personality, and if the foreign policy is made on the basis of personal relationships, it will harm the interest of the country. We have always said that India’s interests come first. India’s interests are above any party or any leader. The government should take care of this. The government has many times compromised on India’s foreign policy to build its image and improve personal relationships. I strongly oppose this.
