Desi cow’s ghee not only enhances the taste of food, but is also considered a treasure for health. In Ayurveda it has been described as nectar. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev also often recommends consumption of pure cow ghee. He says that if ghee is taken in limited quantity on an empty stomach in the morning, the body can be saved from many problems. However, ghee is not a magical medicine, but a nutritious food which gives benefits only in the right quantity.

Relief in constipation and weak digestion

If the stomach is not clean or there is problem of constipation then taking one spoon of desi ghee with lukewarm milk at night is considered beneficial. This lubricates the intestines and bowel movements become easier.

Taking ghee in small quantities also improves digestion power. But if you eat too much, there is a risk of weight gain, so balance is important.

Helpful in joint pain

According to Baba Ramdev, healthy fats and anti-inflammatory properties present in ghee can be helpful in reducing swelling of joints. Ghee in limited quantity can be beneficial for people who suffer from knee or back pain.

Although it is necessary to consult a doctor in case of severe pain or disease like arthritis, ghee only acts as a supporting food.
