Bank Holidays in March 2026: With the beginning of March, the festive season is about to knock. In such a situation, if any important work related to your bank is pending, then it would be wise to settle it soon. Due to abundance of holidays in March 2026, banks will remain closed for a total of 12 days in many states.
According to the released holiday list of RBI, there will be less working days in banks in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand and Jammu including festivals, regional holidays and weekly holidays.
Why are there such long holidays?
The month of March is the time of closing of the financial year and big festivals. There are 5 Sundays in the month. As per rules, banks remain closed on second and fourth Saturdays. There are additional holidays due to Holi, Eid, Mahavir Jayanti and local festivals of different states. Adding all this, there will be a total of 12 days when bank branches will remain closed in many states.

Digital services will remain operational
Although bank branches will remain closed, customers need not panic. Net banking, mobile banking, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and ATM services will be available 24 hours.
But if you have to get any document signed, demand draft made or meet the bank manager, then plan keeping the holiday calendar in mind.
