Indian Embassy issues advisory for citizens living in these countries along with Israel

New Delhi, 28 February. Iran has launched Operation ‘Epic Fury’ in response to the joint attack on Tehran by Israel and the US. News agency Fars has claimed that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has started targeting US bases located in Kuwait, Qatar, UAE. In view of the current situation, the Indian Embassy has issued an advisory for Indian citizens living in some other countries including Israel and Iran and advised them to be alert and cautious.

Along with necessary guidelines, some emergency numbers have also been issued by Qatar, Tel Aviv Embassy and the representative office in Palestine. An appeal has been made that people should stay in safe places, keep an eye on local news and stay in touch with the Indian Embassy. Indian citizens have been advised to take full care and follow the instructions of the Embassy and local administration.

The Embassy has issued different helpline numbers for different countries and has said that all of them will be ready to help 24 hours. A number 00974-55647502 has been issued for Indians living in Qatar and they have been asked to contact on the email ID cons.doha@mea.gov.in.

All Indian nationals living in Palestine are requested to remain vigilant and follow locally recommended safety measures. In emergency +970592916418 or repoffice@mea.gov.in Contact cons.ramallah@mea.gov.in.

At the same time, an advisory had already been issued for Israel’s capital Tel Aviv and an appeal was made to follow security instructions. According to this, ‘In case of any emergency, Indian citizens can contact the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv through the 24/7 helpline +972-54-7520711. E-mail: cons1.telaviv@mea.gov.in. The Embassy continues to engage with the relevant authorities and will continue to issue updates as needed.

 

Earlier, Indians living in Tehran were also instructed to stay in touch with the embassy and use security measures carefully. Toll-free number 800-46342 and WhatsApp number +971543090571 have also been issued for Indian citizens in UAE. Along with this the email address is- pbsk.dubai@mea.gov.in and ca.abudhabi@mea.gov.in.

Indigo and Air India also issued travel advisory, many countries canceled flights

Amidst the joint attacks by Israel and America on Iran, many countries have closed their airspace and canceled flights. Along with this, Indigo and Air India have issued travel advisory.

IndiGo said in the travel advisory, ‘We are closely monitoring regional updates related to Iran and its airspace. The safety of our customers and crew is our biggest priority. Our teams are ready to make any necessary changes as the situation changes. Passengers are advised to check the status of their flight before departure. In case of any impact, updates will be communicated immediately through the registered contact details. We will keep you informed and remain fully committed to providing our steadfast support during this time.

Air India flights to all destinations in the Middle East stopped

Air India said in its advisory, ‘In view of the situation prevailing in some parts of the Middle East, all Air India flights to all destinations in the Middle East have been stopped. We are committed to maintaining the highest safety standards for our passengers and crew. We will continue to assess the safety and security environment for our flight operations and adjust operations as needed. Our teams will provide all necessary support to the passengers.

Many other airlines also stopped flights, some countries closed airspace

On the other hand, Wizz Air has canceled all flights to and from Israel, Dubai in UAE as well as Abu Dhabi and Amman in Jordan with immediate effect till March 7. Lufthansa has suspended Saturday and Sunday flights to and from Dubai, Tel Aviv, Beirut in Lebanon and Muscat in Oman. KLM canceled flights from Amsterdam to Tel Aviv. Oman Air stopped all flights to Iraq’s capital Baghdad. Russia has stopped all airlines of Iran and Israel. Kuwait has also canceled all flights to Iran until further notice.

Iraq closed its airspace and canceled all incoming and outgoing flights. Israel has canceled all civilian flights and closed its airspace. Qatar, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates have also closed their airspace. Syria has partially closed its airspace.
