According to preliminary information, the earthquake struck at around 1:22 pm. The earthquake shook areas like Kolkata and South Kolkata. At the time of writing, there were no reports of damage or casualties. An earthquake was felt in Nepal earlier this morning.

5.5 Magnitude Earthquake
According to the Geological Survey of India (GSI), the earthquake measured 5.5 on the Richter scale. The epicentre of the earthquake was located just 26 kilometers from Taki, Bengal. As soon as the tremor was felt, people left their belongings in shops and ran to open spaces.
