New link expressway will be built in UP: Good news for these districts
News Desk. Another major step has been taken towards strengthening the infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh. The proposed Bulandshahr Link Expressway project to connect Noida International Airport to Ganga Expressway is now going to gain momentum. The state government has approved Rs 1204 crore for land acquisition for this project, so that the work can be progressed rapidly.
This link expressway route will be 74 kilometers long
This proposed link expressway will be approximately 74 kilometers long. For this, about 740 acres of land of eight villages of Gautam Buddha Nagar and 48 villages of Bulandshahr district will be acquired on the basis of consent. The administration aims to complete the land acquisition process by March, so that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) can be prepared after that.
Airport connectivity will also get big benefits
This route is considered very important to ensure easy access to the Noida International Airport being developed in Jewar. This road will connect to Ganga Expressway near Syana area of Bulandshahr and pass through Yamuna Expressway Development Authority (YIDA) area. Later, this route will also be connected to Yamuna Expressway, which will further ease the traffic between Delhi-NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh.
Possibility of expansion from six lanes to eight lanes
This link expressway will initially be developed as six lanes, but considering future needs, there are plans to expand it to eight lanes. The maximum speed of vehicles will be set at 120 kilometers per hour. About 20 kilometers of the route will be constructed in the Yida area, which will also include an elevated section of about nine kilometers long. Keeping in mind the local traffic, a 24 meter wide service lane will also be built.
Industrial development will get a boost
Work has also started on the plan to develop an industrial corridor along this expressway in Sayana area. Here logistics and warehousing projects will be given priority. Apart from this, projects like Medical Device Park, Apparel Park and Toy City will also benefit from better connectivity. This is expected to create new opportunities for investment and employment in the area.
There will be a big reduction in travel time
After the completion of this route, the distance from Meerut to Noida International Airport can be covered in about 45 minutes. This will give new impetus to trade, tourism and industrial activities. Besides, the traffic pressure between Delhi-NCR and Western UP will also reduce.
