BRIT awards 2026 kick off in Manchester for first time in 48

The BRIT Awards 2026 kick off tonight at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena in a landmark moment for the ceremony, which has moved out of London for the first time in 48 years.

Since its launch in 1977, the BRIT Awards have grown into one of the UK’s biggest and most prestigious music events. This year’s edition promises a fresh atmosphere while retaining the glamour and excitement fans have come to expect.

Ahead of the main ceremony, four winners have already been revealed:

• Producer of the Year: PinkPantheress
• Songwriter of the Year: Noel Gallagher of Oasis
• Outstanding Contribution to Music: Mark Ronson
• Critics’ Choice Award 2026: Jacob Alon

The night will feature performances from a lineup of major stars including Olivia Dean, Harry Styles, and RAYE.

Also set to perform are the HUNTR/X girls EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI  alongside Wolf Alice, Mark Ronson, Alex Warren, Sombr and Rosalía.

This year’s iconic Brit trophy has also received a makeover. Designed by fashion designer Matthew Williamson, the award is crafted from amber-coloured resin and inspired by Manchester’s worker bee symbol, a tribute to the city’s industrial heritage and resilience.

Fans can watch the ceremony live on ITV1 and ITVX from 8:15pm, with a live stream available on ITV’s YouTube channel starting at 8:45pm.

The dramatic move to Manchester gives the BRIT Awards a fresh stage and a new vibe while maintaining its tradition of celebrating the very best in UK music. With major performances lined up and coveted trophies to be handed out, tonight promises to be a memorable celebration of British music.
