Soul-shattering incident in Odisha: Wedding hoax, then rape and throwing from the fourth floor; painful death of a girl

Jagatsinghpur: A heinous incident has come to light from Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha, which has put humanity to shame. A 23-year-old girl, who was dreaming of settling down with her lover, had to face first deception and then brutality. The police have arrested the girl’s boyfriend and another youth in this case. There is a serious allegation against them of raping the girl and murdering her by throwing her down from the fourth floor to hide her identity.

Lover cheated in the name of marriage, left her alone on the way

Police investigation revealed that this tragic story had started last Sunday. The victim had reached a temple in Tirtol to marry her 31-year-old lover. However, the lover’s intentions changed after reaching the temple. He flatly refused to marry and assaulted the girl. The cruelty reached its peak when he left the girl helpless and bleeding at a bus stand and ran away.

Cruelty in the name of help: Gave him a lift and took him to his room.

On Sunday evening, when the girl was standing alone and scared at the bus stand, a 24-year-old youth from Dhanbad, Jharkhand reached there. This young man, who worked in a private company in Paradeep, made the girl sit on his motorcycle on the pretext of dropping her at a safe place. The girl went with him in the hope of getting help, but the accused took her to his rented room and allegedly raped her there.

Thrown down from fourth floor due to fear of being exposed

After the rape, when the victim showed courage and threatened to complain to the police, the accused became furious. Fearing that he would be caught, he pushed the girl down from the fourth floor of the building. The girl died on the spot due to severe head injury and excessive bleeding. When the police found the body on Monday morning, there were deep injury marks on it, which deepened the suspicion of murder.

CCTV footage and post mortem report revealed the secret

Jagatsinghpur SP Ankit Kumar Verma said that CCTV cameras helped a lot in solving the mystery of this ‘blind murder’. In the footage, the girl was seen going inside the building with the accused on Sunday night. The post mortem report has also confirmed sexual assault. Police have seized the motorcycle and two mobile phones of the accused. Taking immediate action on the complaint of the deceased’s brother, the police arrested both the accused and sent them to jail.
