Big relief to crime victims in Jharkhand! Soren will get compensation up to Rs 3 lakh from the government, know the complete scheme

Jharkhand News: In Jharkhand, the government of Hemant Sorane has taken huge steps to provide relief to the victims of crime and their dependents. The state government has fixed the minimum compensation amount in different crimes under the Jharkhand Victim Compensation Scheme 2016. The Home Department has issued an order in this regard.

how much compensation to whom

According to the order, a compensation of at least Rs 3 lakh will be given to the victim injured by acid attack or rape. An amount of Rs 2 lakh has been fixed in cases of physical exploitation of a minor. Rs 1 lakh will be given for the rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking and Rs 50,000 will be given in cases of sexual harassment other than rape.

Dependents will get Rs 2 lakh

In case of death due to any crime, the dependents will get Rs 2 lakh. There is a provision of Rs 2 lakh even if there is 80 percent or more permanent disability. Rs 1 lakh will be given for 40 to 80 percent partial disability. If more than 25 percent of the body gets burnt, excluding acid attack, then Rs 2 lakh will be given. A compensation of Rs 50 thousand has been fixed for loss of fetus and Rs 1.5 lakh for loss of fertility.

How much amount to the disabled

If a woman gets 80 percent or more permanent disability or dies in bilateral firing on the border, then Rs 2 lakh will be given. Rs 1 lakh will be given for partial disability more than 40 percent. Apart from this, if any crime causes less than 40 percent disability due to loss of any body part, then Rs 50,000 will be given. There is a provision of Rs 10,000 for minor injuries to a child victim and Rs 50,000 for the rehabilitation of other victims.

What about children under 14

The compensation amount will be decided by the District Legal Services Authority on the basis of loss suffered by the victim, expenses on treatment, funeral expenses and the need for rehabilitation. For this, the victim or his dependents can apply to the District Legal Services Authority. If the age of the victim is below 14 years, the fixed amount can be increased by 50 percent.
