Reliance’s masterstroke in the world of AI, announcement of investment of ₹ 10 lakh crore; Lakhs of youth will get jobs
Mukesh Ambani AI Vision 2026: The country’s richest businessman Mukesh Ambani on Thursday announced that Jio and Reliance Industries will jointly invest up to Rs 10 lakh crore in Artificial Intelligence (AI) over the next seven years. Speaking at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 held in Delhi, he said this is not just an investment to drive valuations, but a patient, disciplined, nation-building infusion of capital, designed to deliver sustainable economic value and strategic strength for decades to come.
The Reliance chairperson said the biggest hurdle in AI today is not talent or imagination. Rather the lack and high cost of computing. Therefore, Geo Intelligence will create India’s self-reliant computing infrastructure through three bold initiatives.
first initiative
The company has started construction of multi-gigawatt capacity, AI-friendly data centers in Jamnagar. Ambani said data centers with a capacity of more than 120 MW will be operational in the second half of 2026, paving the way for gigawatt-level computing for training and large-scale inference.
second initiative
The company has additional green energy capacity of up to 10 GW, based on solar power, in Kutch and Andhra Pradesh.
third initiative
The third initiative is its nationwide edge computing. The edge computing layer, deeply integrated with Jio’s network, will deliver fast, low-latency and affordable information closer to where Indians live, learn and work.
Jio Intelligence Plan
In his address, Mukesh Ambani further said that Jio Intelligence will focus on AI to become a leader in India’s deep-tech and advanced manufacturing sector, and reach not only large enterprises but also agriculture, small businesses and the informal sector. He said that Geo Intelligence will not just be a search or query tool; It will primarily be a resource to increase productivity and efficiency.
The second goal will be to achieve world-leading multilingual AI capabilities in all Indian languages. He said that when farmers and artisans will talk to AI in their own language, and students will learn in their mother tongue – this is not just convenience, but inclusivity. He further said that Reliance Group will prove that AI will not take away jobs, but will create new high-skilled employment opportunities.
Reliance will work to develop AI
Ambani said the AI story has now shifted from who has the best model to who can build the strongest ecosystem for speed and scale of use. He also said that Reliance Group Will develop a strong partnership mechanism with Indian enterprises, startups, IITs, IISc and research institutes. It will work with India’s leading industrial clusters to integrate AI across manufacturing, logistics, energy, finance, retail, agriculture and healthcare sectors.

All of these will be designed in India, based on our values, driven by our talent and implemented broadly for humanity.
