Obra/ Sonbhadra –
Such a stream of service and dedication is flowing in Obra city of the district, which has given life to the mantra of service to man and service to Narayan in front of the society. The selfless Khichdi distribution campaign started by Shri Ram Seva Samiti has successfully entered the seventh month of its journey today. This service project, which started on the auspicious occasion of 23rd August 2025 (Bhadrapada Shani Amavasya), continues today on 28th February 2026 with the same energy and unwavering devotion. The foundation of this campaign was laid last year during Parigh Yoga of Shani Amavasya.
This journey, which started with the tradition of worshiping and bathing and donating at a special auspicious time in the morning (4:34 to 5:22 am), has now taken the form of a mass movement. Under the leadership of the committee’s founder and senior journalist Ajit Singh, this campaign is giving a new direction to the society. Throwing light on the success of the campaign, Ajit Singh shared the basic mantra to awaken the society. Let’s bring change together.

While moving towards the future, first change yourself; When we change, the society will change, and when the society changes, the country will automatically move on the path of progress. During the Khichdi distribution, former president of Obra Nagar Panchayat and guardian figure Umashankar Singh (uncle) specially participated. Praising this valiant effort of the committee, he said that such continuity and selfless devotion is rarely seen in today’s era.

He blessed the entire team to continue this noble work throughout their life. A dedicated team is working day and night to accelerate this campaign. Members like Omprakash Singh, Rita Kumari, Sarita Singh, Karan Chogle and Umashankar Kesari have left an indelible mark in the society with their spirit of sacrifice and service. Avinash Srivastava (social worker), Anil Singh, Aditya Verma, Baburam Singh, Mukesh Prasad and Anil Gupta had special support in the distribution today on 28th February (Saturday). Due to the contribution of all these associates, this distribution is running smoothly.
Khichdi served by the committee is famous in the entire region for its purity and nutritiousness. Journalist Ajit Singh himself gets it prepared with utmost cleanliness under his supervision. Nutritious composition of Khichdi: Green vegetables: Carrot, Fog, Spinach, Beetroot, Bottle gourd, Potato, Tomato, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Peas and Capsicum. Protein sources: Gram, Rajma, Soybean, Peanut (wax almond) and Cucumber. Tasting: Proper blend of ginger, chilli, coriander and pure spices. This effort of Shri Ram Seva Samiti is no longer just a distribution program but has become the new identity of Obra. This team, selflessly engaged in social service, is proving that if the resolve is strong and the sentiments are noble, there is never a shortage of resources. The people of Obara are feeling proud to be associated with this initiative.
