Pakistan failed to restrict Sri Lanka to 147 or below, which resulted in their elimination from the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The Lankans crossed the 147-run mark in 15.5 overs.
New Zealand have become the second team from Group 2 to qualify for the semifinals. The Men in Green had a chance to post over 230 runs, but the batting collapse in the death overs kept the score to 212/8 in their 20 overs.
Although Abrar Ahmed took three wickets for Pakistan, it was not enough in the end.
