In Malayalam, the state is pronounced as ‘Kerala’. Therefore, the position of the state government is that the same change should be made in the official work and in the schedule of the constitution.

The bill will be sent to the state assembly

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said the Kerala name change bill will now be sent to the state assembly for approval. He said that in the first Cabinet meeting held at the new Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) building, a resolution was passed to take all decisions in the interest of 1.4 billion people.
