Indigo issues advisory amid Iran-US conflict… Air India also issues statement

Desk: The US and Israel jointly attacked more than 30 Iranian targets, prompting Iran to retaliate by firing missiles at several Israeli targets. IndiGo and Air India have issued statements on this matter. IndiGo issued a travel advisory, stating that it is closely monitoring the situation in Iran and its airspace.

Posting on social media platform X, the airline said the safety of its passengers and employees is its “highest priority” and its teams are prepared to make necessary operational changes as the situation demands.

IndiGo has advised passengers to check their flight status before traveling. The airline stated that any operational impacts will be immediately communicated through the contact details provided. While the airline has not announced any specific flight cancellations or route changes, such advisories are typically issued when airlines are assessing potential airspace closures, the need for rerouting, or security-related situations in the area.

The airline stated that it is fully prepared to assist passengers during this time and will continue to provide information as needed. Airlines operating international routes often make changes to their flight routes or schedules in response to airspace closures or security advisories based on government directives and threat assessments.

Meanwhile, the country’s other major airlines have also responded to the matter. According to an Air India spokesperson, flight AI139, scheduled to depart from Delhi for Tel Aviv on February 28th, is returning to India due to the closure of Israeli airspace and the safety of passengers and crew.

Air India apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers by this sudden situation and stated that it remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety. The airline added that it will continue to continuously review the safety situation for its flight operations and make timely adjustments as needed.
