The Blackcaps have three points (in three matches) to their credit with a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +1.390. Pakistan has one point from two matches with an NRR of -0.461 because they still need to play their Saturday match.

If Pakistan defats Sri Lanka in their last match and they achieve a better NRR than New Zealand then the team led by Salman Agha will reach the semi-finals with three points. New Zealand will qualify for the next round if they do not meet this requirement.
Pakistan needs to win against Sri Lanka by 64 runs or finish their run chase within 13.1 overs according to their batting order.
The Pakistan vs New Zealand match in the Super Eight section got canceled because of rain. The teams received one point each because of this situation.
