PM Modi in Puducherry: Puducherry : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited Puducherry. On this occasion, he interacted with the audience with affection. He also attacked Congress and DMK. Targeting the DMK and Congress, PM Modi said, “It is important to welcome the good work of the dual engine government, but also remember how bad things were earlier. Under Congress and DMK rule, Puducherry was plagued by political instability, corruption, crime and hardship for the poor. Ration shops were short of rice, salaries were delayed and the streets were ruled by gangsters and drug mafias. PM Modi further said, “Congress made Puducherry an ATM for a family in Delhi. Accusing DMK, he said that there are numerous cases of corruption in Tamil Nadu. Congress and DMK hindered the development of Puducherry. Now, these forces want to come back to power. Will Puducherry return to the era of corruption and crime? I am sure the people of Puducherry will not want that.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described tourism as Puducherry’s strength, saying, “It has become a major weekend destination, attracting thousands of tourists. Trains and planes are always full and it is because of the love of the people of Puducherry. Investment in spiritual, eco-tourism and health tourism is taking us to new heights.”

Puducherry a medical tourism hub

Emphasizing on health, Prime Minister Modi said that as long as the human resources are healthy, the progress of the country is possible. “Healthcare is our priority and it should be available, accessible and affordable to all,” he said. He also said that citizens of Puducherry should not have to travel long distances for treatment. Prime Minister Modi also said that since Puducherry already has nine medical colleges, it can become a medical tourism hub.
