Watch | Truck drags car for over one kilometer on NH 44 in Madhya Pradesh, nobody hurt
New Delhi: In a horrific accident, a truck has dragged a car for about a kilometer and a half on NH 44 in Madhya Pradesh. The incident has been caught on camera by other drivers, and the video became viral on social media.
Incident raises questions
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday evening between Bajhera and Kalyani intersection on NH 44 in Dabra’s Antri police station area. There were three people in the car when the accident took place, and have been reported to be safe.
The truck has been seized, and so far, no complainant has reached the police station. However, the incident has once again raised questions about public safety on the national highway where vehicle generally move at a higher speed that on the normal roads.
Not the first accident on NH 44
Recently, in Telangana’s Adilabad district, a speeding truck rammed into a car from behind on NH 44 on Saturday evening. The accident killed a 42-year-old woman and injured three others. The deceased was identified as Nazeera Begum of Mabapur village and she died on the spot.
The truck was going towards Adilabad when it hit the car travelling in the same direction. The injured were shifted to RIMS, Adilabad, for treatment. The truck driver who hailed from Uttar Pradesh, was allegedly in an inebriated condition. Meanwhile, in February, a speeding Innova car hit a motorcycle in Gurugram’s Gwal Pahari area, killing the pillion rider.
