PM Modi’s big gift to Puducherry: Inauguration of mega projects worth Rs 2,700 crore, from e-bus to smart city and housing… new pace of development

Puducherry: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given a rousing welcome on his arrival in Puducherry on Sunday as he launched development projects worth over Rs 2,700 crore aimed at strengthening infrastructure, urban services, industrial development, education, healthcare and sustainable development. Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy presented the Prime Minister a shawl, a silver idol of Lord Murugan, a silver spear (vel) and a painting from Thanjavur.

PM Modi launched several key initiatives like the inauguration of e-buses under the PM e-Bus Seva initiative, ‘Integrated Command and Control Centre’ under the Smart City Mission, housing for economically weaker sections under the ‘City Investments to Innovate, Integrate and Sustain’ (CITIIS) initiative and important sewerage and water supply sector projects of the Puducherry government. On the arrival of the Prime Minister, Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister Rangasamy welcomed him.
