PM Modi CCS Meeting: Israel, America and Iran The ongoing war between them threatens to spread throughout the Middle East. As a solution to this problem Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) will hold a meeting of the Cabinet Security Committee in the national capital New Delhi today. According to sources, after a two-day visit, he will reach Delhi tonight and preside over the meeting. The meeting will focus on the latest developments in the ongoing war between Israel, Iran and the US and the safety of Indian nationals stranded in various Middle East countries including the UAE.

This meeting is also important because a large number of Indian students and citizens are present in Iran. Moreover, Iran’s retaliatory attacks are affecting many countries in the Middle East. Airspace across the region is closed, leaving thousands of Indians stranded in these countries.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi visited Israel on January 25-26 against the backdrop of ongoing tensions between the US, Israel and Iran. Addressing the Israeli cabinet, he said that India stands with Israel with full confidence. Prime Minister Modi stood up in the Israeli parliament and received applause. During the visit, the two countries signed 16 agreements, covering areas such as AI, defence, agriculture, energy and cultural exchange.

What is India’s stance on the war?

Khamenei was killed in an attack on Iran by Israel and the US. India expressed deep concern over the regional atmosphere created by this attack. A statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs urged all parties to exercise restraint and respect the sovereignty of countries. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar also held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araghchi and Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon.

10,000 Indians stuck in Iran

After his conversation with Araghchi, Jaishankar said he shared “India’s deep concern over recent developments in Iran and the region”. In his conversation with Sa’ar, he reiterated India’s call for “dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate tensions”. India has also issued a new advisory for its citizens. According to government figures, around 10,000 Indians are stuck in Iran, while around 9.6 million people live in the Middle East.
