New Delhi: Team India has made it to the semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2026. India defeated West Indies in the last match of Super-8 and secured the last spot for the semi-finals of the tournament. Sanju Samson played a big role in taking India to the semi-finals, who displayed excellent batting. While Sanju made a record with his innings, Team India chased its highest score in the T20 World Cup on his own.

In the match played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, West Indies had set a target of 196 runs for India to win. To chase this target, the pair of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma came to the crease. The pair made a bright start but were not able to establish themselves much.

This innings, played at a strike rate of 104, included 4 sixes apart from 12 fours. This was the biggest innings by any Indian batsman in the run chase of the T20 World Cup. Earlier this record of 82 runs was in the name of Virat Kohli.
