India created history, 2.5 lakh people took the pledge of Responsible AI in 24 hours, world record made
Guinness World Record In AI Impact Summit 2026: India has shown a new direction to the world in the era of Artificial Intelligence. The country received “most pledges for an AI responsibility campaign in 24 hours” Has set an example at the global level by creating a Guinness World Record. This historic achievement was achieved during the India AI Impact Summit 2026, organized by India AI Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) in collaboration with Intel.
Target of 5 thousand, more than 2.5 lakh took pledge
The campaign, which ran on 16 and 17 February 2026, aimed to promote responsible and human-centric use of AI. A minimum target of 5,000 pledges was set by Guinness World Records, but the support from the countrymen far exceeded expectations.
A total of 2,50,946 people took pledge by participating in this campaign. According to official guidelines, “responsible use” Defined as the ethical, legal, and socially beneficial use of AI technologies.
The participants promised that they would:
- Will not misuse AI
- Will respect privacy and data security
- Will try to reduce discrimination and harm
- Will maintain transparency and accountability in AI related work

Youth showed their greatest strength
The youth of the country had the highest participation in this campaign. More than 2.5 lakh students took the pledge to use AI for the betterment of society. During the inauguration of the summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi saw the students taking this pledge, which shows the seriousness and future thinking of the government towards this initiative.
Made possible by partnership between government and Intel
The strong partnership between the Government of India and Intel India was behind this historic achievement. Sini Iyengar, senior vice president at Intel, said AI and responsibility go “hand in hand” Must walk.
Meanwhile, official Guinness World Records adjudicator Praveen Patel confirmed that the record process was completely legal. The help of forensic experts and digital auditors was taken to ensure that every pledge was made by a human being.
