Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib: The Census Court has stayed the bail of Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib in the AI Summit Shirtless Protest case. Delhi Police appealed to the Sessions Court and got a stay on the bail, after which Chib was sent to Tihar Jail. Congress has expressed displeasure over this action of Delhi Police.
Youth Congress has shared a post on its social media platform X. In this the police has been accused of working in favor of the government. It was written in his post that IYC President Uday Bhanu Chib has been sent to Tihar Jail.
Youth Congress wrote in its post – Yesterday at midnight, an application for extension of remand was filed by the Delhi Police before the Duty Magistrate, which the court rejected as illegal and ordered the release of our President Uday Bhanu Chib on bail. It was further written that while our lawyers were doing the legal proceedings regarding bail bond etc., the Crime Branch of Delhi Police secretly reached the Sessions Court against the order of the Duty Magistrate. Without hearing our side, the duty magistrate’s bail order was stayed and the next hearing date was fixed for March 6.
Every intention of Delhi Police and Government will fail.
Said in our post that we as an organization respect the judicial process and are considering taking all possible legal steps against this order. Every intention of Delhi Police and Government will fail. The way Delhi Police wants to protect its masters from questions being asked on anti-India trade deal by keeping our leaders and workers behind bars, it will never succeed in it. Now our struggle against the anti-youth-farmer trade deal and the arrest of all our comrades will intensify. Ultimately truth and justice will prevail.
Let us tell you that during the recent AI Summit held in Delhi, many Youth Congress leaders including Indian Youth Congress (IYC) President Uday Bhanu Chib had protested shirtless. Taking action in the case, Delhi Police arrested Chib along with other Congress workers from different states of the country. Recently the court had granted bail to the Youth Congress President. However, shortly before his release, the police appealed to the Sessions Court and the Sessions Court stayed the bail. After this Uday Bhanu has been sent to Tihar Jail.
