Jantar Mantar Rally: Bhagwant Mann attacks Centre, claims ‘century’ from Punjab in 2027
New Delhi, March 01, 2026 Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, while addressing virtually at the rally organized at Jantar Mantar under the leadership of Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, made a sharp attack on the BJP and the Central Government. He said that Punjab stands like a rock with the Aam Aadmi Party in changing the dictatorial politics and will gift 100 seats to the party in the 2027 assembly elections. Mann alleged that BJP tried to eliminate Aam Aadmi Party as part of a conspiracy, but that conspiracy has now been exposed in front of the country.
“The power of truth and political conspiracy”
Bhagwant Mann said that whenever trouble befalls Aam Aadmi Party, it emerges stronger. Describing the recent decision of the court as historical, he said that there is no need to remember the truth again, whereas lies are difficult to handle. Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, he said that the difference between their old and new statements on issues like GST and rising prices is clearly visible.
Story of jail, elections and struggle
Mann recalled the period when many top leaders of the party were in jail and the Jalandhar by-election was looming. He said that despite limited resources and absence of leadership, the party fought the elections strongly and won. He told that during the meeting in jail, Arvind Kejriwal expressed concern about the people and schemes of Punjab and directed to adopt a strict stand against corruption.
Accusations on Punjab’s authority and center
The Chief Minister alleged that the Central Government is giving step-motherly treatment to Punjab. He said that thousands of crores of rupees of RDF and GST have been withheld and the amount declared for flood relief has also not been fully received. Referring to Punjab’s historical contribution – Green Revolution and security of borders – he said that the state has always played a leading role in the interest of the country.
“Punjab together like a rock”
At the end of his address, Bhagwant Mann said that Punjab will always stand strongly with Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and the party. Citing the example of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, he mentioned the tradition of struggle and sacrifice. Mann expressed confidence that in 2027, Aam Aadmi Party will get an overwhelming majority in Punjab and the party will emerge stronger at the national level.
