Make instant Moong Dal Mangoda for the evening
Moong Dal Mangoes: As the evening approaches, I often start feeling a little hungry and feel like eating something hot and crisp. In such a situation, instead of ordering fried snacks from outside, if you can quickly prepare something tasty at home, then it would be a different thing. Moong Dal Mangode is one such traditional and wonderful snack, which is not only excellent in taste but also very easy to make. Golden and crunchy from outside, soft from inside, these mangodas make the evening with tea special. Moong dal is rich in protein, so this snack packs a bit of nutrition along with taste. Let us know the easy method of making it.
Moong Dal Mangoes Ingredients
1 cup washed moong dal, 1–2 green chillies, 1 small onion, 1 small piece ginger (grated), 2–3 tsp coriander, 1/2 tsp cumin, a pinch of asafoetida, salt as per taste, oil for frying
Method of making moong dal
First of all, wash the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 3-4 hours. When the dal swells well, drain its water and grind it coarsely in the mixer. Keep in mind that the paste should not be too thin, otherwise the mangoes will not become crunchy.
Now add finely chopped onion, green chilli, ginger, green coriander, cumin, asafoetida and salt to this lentil paste and mix well. If you want, you can also add some red chili powder or chaat masala to enhance the taste.
After this, heat oil in the pan. When the oil becomes moderately hot, drop small portions of the mixture into the oil with the help of hands or a spoon. Fry the mangodas on medium flame until they become golden and crisp.
After frying, take them out on tissue paper, so that excess oil gets removed. Serve hot mangoes with green coriander-mint chutney or sweet tamarind chutney. If you want, you can serve it by sprinkling some chaat masala on top.
