‘Kerala Story-2’ surpasses Deewani in earnings on third day too

Mumbai: Amidst the discussions and controversies, **The Kerala Story 2** earned much less than expected at the box office on the first day. There was confusion among the audience as to whether the film had actually been released or not. For this reason its opening was negatively affected. The film earned only Rs 75 lakh on the first day, which is very low for a big banner and much talked about film.

However, the film improved its position on Saturday. Its earnings reached Rs 4.65 crore on the second day. The trend continued on Sunday as well and the film earned around Rs 5 crore more. In this way the total earning in three days reached Rs 10.40 crore.

The Kerala Story collection on the third day

According to trade reports, if the film had a better opening, the first weekend’s earnings could have been around Rs 15 crore. Still, considering the current situation, earning Rs 10 crore is a positive sign for the film. This installment of the film’s producer **Vipul Shah** is lagging behind compared to the first installment. The first film, which starred **Adah Sharma** in the lead role, made a stellar collection of Rs 35.43 crore in the first weekend and was well received by the audience.

How is the earning according to the budget?

According to reports, the budget of **The Kerala Story 2** is approximately between Rs 28 to 30 crores. On this basis, the earning of Rs 10.40 crore in the first weekend can be called average. But the real test will begin now. The film will have to show a steady performance on Monday to survive at the box office. Usually the earnings of films decline after the weekend. If **The Kerala Story 2** does well on the coming Monday and maintains its weekday earnings, it will be a strong step towards recovering its budget.

Directed by **Kamakhya Narayan Singh**, the film stars **Ulka Gupta**, **Aditi Bhatia**, **Aishwarya Ojha**, **Sumit Gehlawat**, **Arjan Singh Aujla**, and **Yuktam Khosla** in lead roles. The audience’s reactions to the artistes’ performances have been mixed.
