Israel airstrikes kill 31 and wound 149 in Lebanon
Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon have left at least 31 people killed and 149 others wounded, according to officials as of March 2, 2026. The attacks, part of the broader regional escalation involving Israel, the United States, and Iran, targeted multiple locations in southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and Beirut suburbs.
Officials described the strikes as among the most intense in recent weeks, with dozens of Israeli Air Force jets involved. The attacks followed Iran’s missile and drone barrages on Israel and US-allied Gulf states, as well as Israel’s deep strikes into Tehran targeting regime command centers after the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Hezbollah condemned the strikes as “Zionist aggression” and vowed continued resistance, while Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati called for an immediate international intervention to halt the violence. The Lebanese Army and civil defense teams are conducting search-and-rescue operations amid reports of collapsed buildings and fires in affected areas.
