The Indian cricket team proudly entered the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2026 after defeating the West Indies by 5 wickets at the Eden Gardens. In their last Super 8 match at Eden Gardens, Sanju Samson played a brilliant innings for India and led India to victory. India created history by chasing the most successful runs in T20 World Cup history. Batting first, West Indies set up a mountain of 195 runs.

In reply, India reached the target with four balls to spare and tied a 10-year-old stand with the West Indies. The Indian team will now face England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2026 on March 5. The scene in the dugout of the Indian team was truly remarkable when the Indian team reached the semi-finals after their victory over the West Indies. Coach Gautam Gambhir ran onto the field and gave Sanju Samson a magical hug. After the match, the head coach of the Indian team hugged and praised Sanju along with the players.

2 – Head bowed by the sun

Sanju Samson’s explosive runs on the field not only captivated the fans but also the captain Suryakumar Yadav himself. As soon as Sanju returned to the pavilion after his match-winning unbeaten 97, skipper Surya himself rushed onto the field. Surya, in a remarkable display of sportsmanship and respect, removed his cap and bowed before Sanju. This moment between these two stars of Team India was caught on camera and quickly went viral on social media.

3 – Sanju Samson hit thank god

On the second ball of the last over, Sanju Samson hit a stunning four off the bowling of Romario Shepherd to send India into the semi-finals. The entire Eden Gardens area erupted as the ball crossed the boundary. After this exciting moment of victory, Sanju took off his helmet and threw it to the left. Sanju then became emotional and knelt down on the field. He looked up at the sky, folded his hands and thanked God for this historic victory.
