Expressing deep concern over the situation arising in West Asia, the Ministry of External Affairs has appealed to follow international rules and maintain peace. Nepal believes that differences should be resolved only through diplomacy and dialogue to maintain stability in the region.

Formation of emergency team

The Nepal government has formed a high-level emergency relief team under the chairmanship of Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai which will monitor the situation. This team will perform the important task of preparing a comprehensive relief strategy based on the changing war conditions in West Asia. The government has also clarified that all its citizens currently living in the Gulf countries are completely safe and in constant touch.

Iran’s retaliation
