Dr. Gregory Alvarez, D.P.M., FACFASat Ankle & Foot Centers of America, swears by the Brooks Ghost sneaker, writing that “for individuals with high arches, cushioning is especially important because the foot does not absorb shock as efficiently as a neutral arch. The Brooks Ghost offers soft, balanced cushioning that helps reduce pressure on the heel and forefoot—two areas that tend to bear more load in high-arched feet.”

Dr. Bobby Pourziaeea board-certified foot and ankle surgeon known as “The High Heel Doctor,” recommends this extremely cushioned shoe because its “maximal midsole helps distribute pressure and reduce impact stress common in high-arched feet.” Dr. Cleypool agrees, writing that a cushioned shoe like the Hoka Bondi helps with “impact distribution, especially when paired with a cushioned insole.”
Asics Novablast 5
Dr. Andrew Brownanother podiatrist with Foot and Ankle Specialists of West Michigan, says that anyone with high arches should look for a sneaker marked as “neutral.” The Asics Novablast 5 is a prime example of a neutral shoe, with its “secure heel” and “dynamic forefoot for better arch support.” Known for its ample cushion and bouncy ride, the Novablast would be equally at home on a race course as it would on a leisurely walk.

Granted the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Seal of Acceptance—a prestigious title awarded by podiatrists to products that are beneficial for foot health—this clever sneaker has ample amounts of cushioning, a shock-absorbing insole and a stretchy knit upper for comfort.
Nike Vomero 18
Nike’s ultra-cushioned Vomero line is another of Dr. Pourziaee’s favorites for high arches. It has thousands of positive ratings online, and plenty of shoppers who vouch for its “plush feel” and “supportive” design. Reviewers also commented on its smooth ride, which is largely thanks to its curved outsole.
